The brief from Royal Mail was to design a First Day cover for their Classic Locomotives Stamp Collection. Our work highlighted the technical ability of each steam locomotive and the purpose of each train. Using the boiler plate design to highlight this information and taking key visual cues from the typography of the era, we created the below cover.
